Visitors looking for a spot of retail therapy should head for Northumberland Street where you’ll find stylish department store Fenwick Newcastle as well as the main entrance for major city centre shopping centre, intu Eldon Square. Fenwick Newcastle is famous for its spectacular Christmas Window, artisan Food Hall and year-round shopping whilst Eldon Square hosts department stores, high street favourites and an impressive food quarter.

The famous Newcastle nightlife is at its most impressive in the heart of the city with some of the region’s top cocktail bars, clubs and entertainment venues found within easy walking distance from each other. Revellers are spoilt for choice with a night out in Newcastle city centre – from cocktails at Banyan  beside Grey’s Monument, going large at the best 'super club' The Lofts to sampling the bars and restaurants along Grey Street, High Bridge Street and into the Bigg Market.

Newcastle city centre is a great place to start for must-see visitor attractions  too. Set plenty of time aside to get lost in outer space at Life Science Centre, the award-winning museum just a few minutes’ walk from Newcastle Central Station. Unlock the history of Newcastle and the North East with a visit to Discovery Museum before taking a stroll to St James’ Park  which cuts an imposing figure against the Newcastle skyline. Newcastle Castle has one of the finest surviving castle keeps in England and is where Newcastle gets its name from. Discover art, culture and entertainment at every turn; Newcastle's compact city centre makes it the perfect city break for day to night enjoyment.
