Dalton Park Santa Grotto Blog

Father Christmas is terribly busy at this time of year, and we know how important it is to get your Christmas list in before the big day.

If you are looking for Christmas events to enjoy as a family in Newcastle then look no further! Experience a brilliant day out in Newcastle and meet the big man himself too! We have managed to locate Santa’s sleigh to find out where you can meet Santa in the North East this Christmas.

Grainger Market Grotto

Santa has set up a Grotto right inside the Grainger Market in Newcastle. He will be there till Christmas Eve. We contacted the elves, and they ask that you have your ticket ready for North Pole Passport Control, have an adult over 18, and only 2 children per visit. Now you only have 4mins to tell Santa what you really want for Christmas, so you better get started on that list.

Dalton Park Grotto

Santa and his elves have worked hard this year to make sure it is Covid safe for your little ones to visit. The team at Dalton Park and the North Pole want to make sure the Grotto is a magical experience.

Your little ones will be able to meet him face to face in a magical grotto till Christmas Eve to tell him all their Christmas wishes and have a photograph to take away. You do not need to book, just turn up and tell Santa what is on your wish list.

Afternoon Tea with Santa with Seven Stories

Santa loves to read a story or two, so he has decided to visit Seven Stories in Ouseburn where you can come and have afternoon tea with him till 23rd December.

Tuck into a spread of some of Santa’s favorite food and enjoy storytimes and games with Santa’s little helpers. They will even help you make a Christmas craft of your own that you can take home from their workshop. Then you will be whisked to the magical grotto for a VIP private audience with the big man himself.

Breakfast with Santa at The Vermont Hotel

Santa invites you to treat your little helpers this year at The Vermont Hotel, as they host a tasty breakfast followed by some particularly important Elf Training from the real elves from the North Pole. You will also get to see Santa and if you are on the nice list, you will receive a gift.

Santa is staying at the hotel till Christmas Eve, so you better book ahead so you don’t miss him.

Santa’s Enchanted Elf Journey at The Whitehouse Farm

The Whitehouse Farm Elves are excited to present Santa’s Enchanted Elf Journey. They have a jam-packed programme of Festive Fun till 24th December all included in the cost of your experience.

Your journey will start with a ride on their Festive Tractor & Trailer to the Enchanted Forest where you will meet the Fun Forest Elves, who will help you on a special search to find a festive surprise.

The Enchanted Forest is also home to Santa’s real Reindeer, you can help the Elves feed them and of course, there will be lots of fabulous photo opportunities with them too. What Enchanted Elf Journey would be complete without a visit to Father Christmas himself, each paying child will receive a special voucher from Santa to choose a quality gift in the Elves Toyshop. Each paying child will also receive a personalised letter from Santa.

The elves recommend you don’t delay as you won’t want to miss Santa’s sleigh.

Search for Santa in Newcastle

Returning for its third year on Saturday, 4th December, the Search for Santa consists of a free, festive trail that takes participants on an adventure across the city from 9.00 am-3.30 pm.

Oh yes, Santa likes to get his steps in.

Starting at Eldon Square, groups of children and their parents and guardians will collect Santa hats and a map that will provide clues and a trail to lead them to Father Christmas.

With stops along the way for children to enjoy Christmas craft activities, the Search for Santa will finish at Newcastle Cathedral where there will be another festive craft stop, hot chocolate, and a chance to meet Santa, as well as receiving a festive gift.
