Newcastle has its very own Chinatown...

... which is home to spectacular Chinese New Year celebrations each year and some of the best Chinese restaurants in Newcastle.

Visitors with a hankering for a flavour-filled Chinese dish can wander through the impressive, decorative Chinese Arch which forms a gateway to some of the best Chinese restaurants in Newcastle. Stowell Street runs through the centre of Chinatown and is lined with all-you-can-eat buffets and authentic Chinese restaurants. Newcastle Chinatown is also a great place for budget-conscious diners as it has plenty of affordable Chinese buffets and cafes, including the ever-popular Lau's 202 Buffet King and Chinatown Express.
