The festive season kicks off with the Fenwick's Window Reveal. The famous tradition can be watched online via Fenwick's Youtube and Instagram account. After the window reveal, the next Christmas tradition to take place is the Christmas light switch on. The much-loved traditional festive curtain raiser will take place on 2nd November.

Meet Father Christmas, step into magical performances and pantos and get into the festive spirit with a city break in Newcastle and Gateshead this winter. Get outdoors to experience the magic of a festive light trail this Christmas at The Northern Lights Trail. Christmas in Newcastle wouldn't be the same without a visit to Fenwick's Christmas Window. Head for a spin around the outdoor ice rink at Life Science Centre to really get in the festive mood.

The Quayside will come alive with two incredible firework displays! A free family-friendly firework display will take place at 6:00 PM, perfect for those celebrating early. Then get ready for HowayManay - a brand-new, ticket-only celebration that will transform the Quayside into a party village filled with live music, roaming performers, festive food stalls and more. Then, as the clock strikes midnight, all eyes will turn to the River Tyne for a spectacular firework finale.
