Later on in the year, the Great North Run will be taking place once more in September. The world's largest half marathon will welcome over 60,000 runners to take part in the city to sea race.

The popular late night culture crawl The Late Shows will shine a light on the much loved cultural hubs of Newcastle and Gateshead in May 2024. Culture lovers will rejoice as The Laing Art Gallery has announced that it has been chosen as one of the twelve partner venue locations taking part in National Treasures, twelve displays of loaned paintings, all opening on May 10 2024, the 200th birthday of the National Gallery.
