Join in the Pride 2025 celebrations across NewcastleGateshead, where visitors and residents alike, come together to celebrate and support the LGBTQIA+ community in the North East and around the world.
During July and August there are two main Pride festivals in Newcastle and Gateshead; from lively parades and parties to thought-provoking discussions and family-friendly activities, there's something for everyone to enjoy.
July saw the return of Newcastle Pride which took over the city 19th and 20th July 2025. Newcastle city centre came alive with a weekend of exciting events from the iconic march through the city centre, to the festival arena in Times Square with big-hitting headliners, as well as free satellite events that were enjoyed by thousands of residents and visitors alike.
August will be bursting with Pride in Gateshead, with celebrations organised by Out North East popping up across the River Tyne in Gateshead. Packed with fun music, sporting and film events - Pride in Gateshead is not to be missed.
Pride in the City, formally known as Northern Pride, is Newcastle's annual Pride celebration, and 2025 was bigger and better than ever. It took place 19th and 20th July 2025, and celebrations took over every corner of Newcastle, building on the theme of 'unapologetically visible'.
The Pride in the City 2025 arena returned to Times Square in Newcastle's city centre, and brought an exciting list of star-studded appearances from Pixie Lott to Gok Wan.
Areas across the city held fantastic free satellite events, workshops and live performances which was perfect for the whole family. A full programme of queer art and culture took place at Northern Stage and the Market Village returned to Greys Monument alongside so many other events.
Get ready, Gateshead! Pride is back and it’s bigger and more inclusive than ever. This August, Out North East returns with their Summer of Pride - Pride in Gateshead.
A month-long celebration of LGBTQIA+ joy and community spirit right here on the Tyne. From the grand launch at the Metrocentre on 2nd August to the incredible Pride in Gateshead concert on 30th August at Baltic Square, there's something for everyone to take part in and enjoy this month. Pride in Gateshead is more than just a festival, it’s a statement of belonging, support and community pride. The month-long event blends celebration with safe spaces and inclusive fun for families, allies, and LGBTQIA+ people of all ages. Make sure to show your support for the LGBTQIA+ community this month.
