July brought 'Pride in the City' to Newcastle, with a weekend of exciting events from the iconic march through the city centre, to the festival arena in Times Square with headliners such as Ginger Johnson and Whigfield, as well as free satellite events that were enjoyed by thousands of residents and visitors alike. Pride in the City will be back in Newcastle in 2025.
August is bursting with Pride with a month long celebration across Gateshead. Dance the day away at the Pride on Tyne concert at Baltic Square, fill your baskets at a family picnic, get the creative juices flowing with placard workshops or even break a sweat at the 5k colour fun run; Pride in Gateshead is not to be missed.

Throughout August 2024, Gateshead is bursting with Pride with a month-long programme of free events for everyone to enjoy. Organised by local charity Out North East, Pride in Gateshead 2024 will see the town buzzing with events from sporting challenges and arts & crafts workshops, to film festivals and family picnics.
Whether you're staying for the day, making a weekend of it or celebrating for the entire month, the first ever Pride celebrations in Gateshead will surely be a time to remember. Pride in the City, formally known as Northern Pride, is Newcastle's annual Pride celebration, and 2024 was the biggest and best yet, welcoming a whopping 82,000 people to the city. Taking place 19th - 21st July, celebrations took over every corner of Newcastle under this year's theme of 'unapologetically visible'.
The Pride in the City 2024 arena saw Times Square in Newcastle's city centre, transformed into the best party the city has seen. Hosted by Ophelia B, DJ sets from the likes of clubland icon DJ Fat Tony and Hits Radio presenter James Barr and more, really got the crowds of thousands into the groove.
Areas across the city were a hive of colourful activity with free satellite events, workshops and live performances for the whole family to join in. A full programme of queer art and culture took place at Northern Stage, the Market Village took over Greys Monument, and 16,500 took part in the iconic Pride march through the city.
