Relax, unwind and discover the fantastic range of arts and design on show in the friendly surroundings of the Shipley Art Gallery, Gateshead.
The Shipley Art Gallery is the North East's leading gallery for contemporary art and design and has one of the best collections of ceramics, wood, metal, glass, textiles and furniture outside of London. It is also home to William Irving's painting The Blaydon Races and The Henry Rothschild collection of studio ceramics. This includes work by all major makers and studios working in ceramics during the 20th century in the UK.

Other gallery spaces show a range of exhibitions throughout the year. There are regular events including craft workshops, artist and curator talks, family activity sessions, concerts and fairs. Entry is free to the gallery, donations are welcomed. Charges may apply for special events.
