With origins dating back to 1239, this Dominican friary has welcomed royalty, survived centuries of change and now proudly houses the oldest dining room in the UK. Today, guests enjoy traditional British cuisine with a modern flair in one of the most historic restaurant settings in the country.
Next door, the medieval Banquet Hall has been meticulously restored to reflect its celebrated past, once hosting King Edward III. Featuring bespoke banners, chandeliers, stained glass and handcrafted oak furniture, the hall seats up to 50 guests and is perfect for corporate events, private parties, wine tastings, educational visits, weddings and special celebrations.
Overlooking the peaceful cloister garden, the Blackfriars Cookery School offers a state-of-the-art kitchen and granite chef’s table for up to 12 guests. With classes ranging from world-cuisine and kids’ cookery to team-building sessions and private dining, it's hands-on for food lovers of all ages.
