Blackfriars

Blackfriars is an award-winning restaurant located in a 13th-century medieval friary in the heart of Newcastle, they are serving up cracking Christmas Dinners in the city this year.

From starters such as Mulled Pear and Goats Cheese Salad to a Butter Roast Turkey Main served with pigs in blankets and a boozy Christmas pudding. You’d be foolish not to book a table here.

The restaurant dates back to 1239 that could tell stories about King Henry III, as a former inner-city monastery, Blackfriars is an undeniably unique place to eat out in Newcastle. The restaurant, which now occupies the oldest dining room in the UK, serves guests traditional British cooking with local seasonal produce often straight from the nearby farms and markets.

The Christmas menu is offered until Friday 31 December.

Dine By The Tyne Igloos NewcastleGateshead

The Dine By The Tyne experience returns to the Quayside for another year. Is there a better way to celebrate than festive dining along the Tyne?

The Dining Pods serve up a unique dining experience for up to 10 guests including a three-course seasonal meal, such as a chicken (there are vegan options available) and brandy parfait as a starter, butter roasted turkey for main, and a winter apple tart as dessert.

There is Wi-Fi, heating and a speaker system included in the pod.

Bookings are available every day from Friday 26 November 2021 - Friday 31 December 2021 (excluding Christmas Day and Boxing Day). Timed slots last 1hr 30mins per seating and start from 12noon and end with the last sitting at 8.30 pm.

Marco Pierre White

Celebrate the festive season in style with Marco Pierre White’s Steakhouse in Fenkle Street, Newcastle. From £99 per person, the Christmas Menu consists of a 3-course dinner including a complimentary glass of champagne. You can expect to see Pan Roast Pheasant, Roast Sirloin of Beef or Fillet of Trout. Christmas Dinner is served 12-4pm

The Vermont Hotel

Step into Christmas at The Vermont Hotel as it becomes a magical wonderland. Indulge this Christmas with your nearest and dearest and let the Maven Restaurant do the hard work. Select the Traditional Christmas Day Lunch where you will be welcomed with a kir royale and canapés when you arrive at your table, followed by an exquisite 3-course lunch. Finish your Christmas Day in the hotel lounge or Redwood Bar with coffee and mince pies.

Brinkburn Brewery

Brinkburn Brewery is a small, independent brewery based on the edge of popular Ouseburn in Newcastle. Buried down a warren of stairs, in an unlikely industrialist-looking building, Brinkburn Brewery is a must-visit for Christmas Dinner.

Whether you’re a large group out on your staff party or just a couple on a Christmas date night out, Brinkburn has a three-course set menu available for pre-order. Alternatively, they have the festive Tap Room menu with plenty of seasonal sharing small plates, burgers and Sunday Roasts!

Hotel du Vin

A magnificently refurbished Edwardian building on the banks of the famous River Tyne, Hotel du Vin Newcastle was originally home to the Tyne Tees Steam Ship Company.

So why not invite your family and friends for an experience of delicious food and wine? Indulge in the four-course Christmas Day feast, with mains such as Beef Wellington and Butternut Squash Strudel. You will have to make room for the classic sherry trifle.
