Led by a knowledgeable guide, you’ll discover hidden tales and fascinating legends of the Castle’s past, all set against the mysterious winter night.
After an hour of adventure and stories, take a short break in the atmospheric Great Hall for refreshments—both alcoholic and non-alcoholic options will be available, so remember to bring ID if you'd like to enjoy an adult beverage! Then, ascend to the rooftop for panoramic views across the city, where you’ll see Newcastle illuminated below—a perfect way to celebrate the Winter Solstice on the shortest day of the year.
Important Information
This tour takes place in a Grade 1 listed monument, and visitors should dress warmly, as the Castle Keep can be quite cold in winter. Please wear comfortable footwear, as there are many stairs to navigate, and unfortunately, the Castle is not fully accessible.
