For All At Last Return
This major group exhibition explores different marine ecosystems, from near-shore and intertidal zones to coral reefs, the open ocean and the deep sea, considering our relationships with these fragile environments and their dependent communities.
Marine waters cover more than 70% of the Earth’s surface, supporting a vast range of life forms; however, human-driven climate change and overfishing are degrading ocean habitats and pushing marine species to the brink of extinction.

For All At Last Return features sculpture, video, photography and installation by British and international artists working at the intersection of art and ecology for whom the health of the ocean is an enduring concern. This immersive exhibition journeys across the globe, from the shallow reefs of the South Pacific to the rocky shores of the North Sea. Many of the artists have collaborated with marine biologists and oceanographers to draw attention to the local, regional and global issues that threaten marine ecosystems. Their works reflect on the ocean as a site of colonisation, extraction, resistance and regeneration.

In conjunction with this exhibition, a newly commissioned Lightbox work by Nadia Huggins is displayed on Baltic’s Ground Floor.
