Wallington is a large estate in Northumberland which has been cared for by National Trust since 1941. One of the North East's most spectacular properties, a visit to the magnificent estate is fun for all the family. Wallington is a home to a historic country house which sits amid rolling hills, swathes of woodland and has a beautiful, walled garden to explore.
Discover the variety of spaces, both indoors and out at National Trust Wallington inNorthumberland. On a wander through the woodlands and alongside lakes, keep your eyes peeled for the native wildlife from red squirrels and nuthatches, to white-clawed crayfish and otters. Visitors looking for an active adventure at Wallington, take to the Dragon cycle trail on two wheels and be inspired by far-reaching views across Northumberland's countryside. Once home to the unconventional and socialist Trevelyan family, the informal house is full of treasured collections, while the three outdoor play parks capture the spirit of the adventurous Trevelyan children and are perfect for a day out with the kids.
As part of the National Trust's programme of Contemporary Art, now in its thirteenth year, Wallington have a brand new sculptural work which is located on the River Walk and has been created by artists INSTAR. The simple and dynamic free-standing sculpture entitled Nothing exists alone explores the themes of family, discovery and a return to a new wild.
