The spectacular new Park and award-winning production Kynren - an epic tale of England will return in 2021 and welcome visitors every Saturday from the 7 August to the 11 September.

Kynren is a spectacular outdoor theatre experience that takes place annually, usually between August and September. The open-air extravaganza had planned to add even more to their attraction in 2020 with a new show, new attractions and new dining. This family-friendly event is a feast for all the senses and a brilliant way to enjoy the long summer evenings in the North East.
Kynren is an epic tale told as spectacular outdoor theatre in Bishop Auckland. Starting at sunset and ending in starlight, the 90-minute show is set against the magnificent backdrop of Auckland Castle in Bishop Auckland, County Durham.
Watch legends come to life in a thrilling tale told on an epic scale - 2,000 years in the making. Kynren is a multi-award-winning live action outdoor theatre spectacular which will take visitors on a spellbinding voyage through history as seen through the eyes of Arthur, the son of a North East, mining family.
From the fog of war and the noise of battle to the heat of industry; from Romans to Victorians, from the lavish pomp and pageantry to thrilling choreography, amazing stunts, equestrianism, special effects and pyrotechnics.
What's new at Kynren in 2020?
Arrive early and enjoy the long, summer evenings in the beautifully landscaped grounds of Kynren. The Park will offer visitors a jam-packed afternoon with an electrifying new show and engaging new attractions including a brand new and exhilarating Horse Stunt show like no other. Visitors to Kynren can watch thrilling stunts, chariot races, jousting and be on the lookout, as dragons are about! Make sure to arrive early as you will definitely need time to explore the maze, enchanting mini explorers adventure playground and lakeside live music experience.
There will be Hog Roast street food, a family-friendly, covered dining hall as well as exclusive dining packages so you can enjoy an at-seat two-course meal before the spectacular show.
