Kynren is a spectacular outdoor theatre experience that takes place annually, usually between August and September. This family-friendly event is a feast for all the senses and a brilliant way to enjoy the long summer evenings in the North East.
Kynren is an epic tale told as spectacular outdoor theatre in Bishop Auckland. Starting at sunset and ending in starlight, the 90-minute show is set against the magnificent backdrop of Auckland Castle in Bishop Auckland, County Durham.

Kynren is a multi-award-winning live action outdoor theatre spectacular which will take visitors on a spellbinding voyage through history as seen through the eyes of Arthur, the son of a North East, mining family.
From the fog of war and the noise of battle to the heat of industry; from Romans to Victorians, from the lavish pomp and pageantry to thrilling choreography, amazing stunts, equestrianism, special effects and pyrotechnics.
