The Common Room is a unique heritage venue in the centre of Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, formed to lead the restoration of Neville Hall (previously known as The Mining Institute) and home of The North of England Institute of Mining & Mechanical Engineers.
The historic building which is currently undergoing major conservation work, will celebrate the North East's engineering history through education and engagement, with a vision to inspire the next generation of innovators and engineers. Watch this space for a range of innovative exhibitions, events and activities in the newly developed venue.
Located in the centre of Newcastle, the spectacular Grade II* listed building is a versatile venue suitable for staging a broad range of events.
When The Common Room re-opens their doors in 2021, the building will accommodate conferences, events, gigs, weddings and more. Drop in to their cafe and bar area as part of your night out in Newcastle or take in the heritage of the building with a wander through its renovated rooms.
The conservation project is supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
