Claiming to be Newcastle's most sumptuous pub venue, this city centre pub can be found off Northumberland Street, providing laid back comfort, good food and good ales. The pub was originally established in 1923 in a historic Tudor façade building, and is one of Newcastle’s most famous pubs.
City Tavern is dog friendly, and has plenty of water bowls and a stock of special gourmet dog treats. Please feel very free to bring your well behaved dogs along. The popularity and success of the pub has been widely commended, receiving Star awards for Best Pint and Best Cask Ale, and more recently it was named UK's Best Spirits Pub.
Food served: Seven days a week, 12noon - 7pm
Bar open: Seven days a week, 10am - midnight
