NewcastleGateshead is fast becoming a hub for festivals that are not to be missed.

Is there a better place to experience an exhilarating festival than in Newcastle and Gateshead? Whether it's taking part in the city's annual Pride celebrations, discovering a new favourite dish at a food festival, immersing yourself in a unique late-night culture crawl or dancing the day away at one of NewcastleGateshead's iconic music festivals - we can all agree that visiting a festival of any kind, is always a good idea.

Don’t miss Pride Festival each year in Newcastle which grows with vibrancy, variety and good vibes with every event. Celebrate LGBTQIA+ culture with performances, events for all the family, talks and events showcasing all the colours of the rainbow. 2024 promises to be the biggest and best yet with Pride in the City taking over Newcastle 19th - 21st July,  and Pride in Gateshead bringing an entire month of celebrations to Gateshead this August.

90s Baby Festival
 is back the following day, Sunday 4th August, and is a must for those who can't get enough of the cheese! Throw it right back to the dance decade with House classic anthems as well as a line-up of 00s and 90s mega stars.

Festivals The Late Shows The Late Shows cultural festival across NewcastleGateshead each May.

The Mouth of the Tyne Festival brings four days of music icons to the North East coastline against the backdrop of the iconic and historical Tynemouth Priory. Taking place 11th - 14th July, the festival will see performances from Ocean Colour Scene, Rick Astley, Andrew Cushin and Heather Small.

Dive into a fun-filled weekend at Ouseburn Festival(13th - 14th July 2024) with quirky activities from stand-up comedy and hay bale throwing to a pony party,pottery painting and more!

Novum is Newcastle's premier arts festival, and is returning to the city 8th - 11th August 2024, bringing with it performances from one of the world's top DJ's, DJ Yoda ,art installations from Lawrence Malstaf and a whole variety of exciting activations and events.

Further afield in Northumberland – the summer music festival season will continue with Lindisfarne Festival giving music fans another excuse to soak up the sunshine and experience world-class live music from the likes of Tom Walker and Orbital in stunning surroundings (29th August- 1st September 2024).

The ultimate cultural festival The Late Shows made a triumphant return to cultural venues in Ouseburn, Newcastle and the Quayside in May this year. If you missed the chance to explore after-hours some of the most vibrant attractions, galleries, print works, museums and heritage attractions - there's always next year when you really must do The Late Shows and discover the beating heart of NewcastleGateshead's culture. 

Newcastle Mela takes place every August bank holiday and is a free, family-friendly festival celebrating Asian culture in Newcastle's Exhibition Park. This year it is celebrating its 30th anniversary and the popular multi-cultural festival includes live music, dancing, entertainment and plenty of great food. Returning 25th and 26th August 2024.

There’s a festival for everyone in NewcastleGateshead from music to food and drink festivals galore; heritage and history is explored all year as part of the Hadrian's Wall 1900 Festival and families should keep their eyes open for festivals to enjoy together.
