NE1’s Summer in the City will transform outdoors spaces across the city from 23 July and give you even more reasons to get outdoors in Newcastle!

Take part in activities in the city centre including Play Rebellion- a fabulous installation for children to interact with, as well as NE1's Screen on the Green outdoor cinema.

Head down to the Quayside which will be buzzing with activity and colour all summer! Discover the emerging creations by artists as well as new installations to have a go on and activities to take part in.

NE1 is proud to present a series of invigorating fitness sessions staged against the breathtaking backdrop of the Quayside. Join forces with The City Baths and Pure Gym to embark on a journey of wellness and vitality. The Age Well program at The City Baths offers keep-fit and movement classes to invigorate body and mind. Meanwhile, Pure Gym will have your heart racing and endorphins soaring with their High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT), Body Combat, Pilates, and, for the first time, sizzling Zumba sessions. Immerse Yourself in Culture at Screen on the Green

Get ready for a summer of cinematic magic as NE1 presents the much-loved Screen on the Green! Unleashing the joy of open-air movie theatres, this captivating experience returns to the heart of Newcastle, offering delightful evenings under the stars. Starting with live sporting action from Wimbledon, Screen on the Green will then dazzle audiences with a sensational lineup of movies throughout the six weeks of the school summer holidays, beginning on Monday, July 24th.

Prepare for an exciting new addition this year with Toddler Takeovers on Tuesdays. These interactive and immersive sessions, hosted by the National Centre for Children's Books, Seven Stories, will enchant the youngest audience members with toddler-friendly short films accompanied by captivating storytelling.
