NE1 Screen On the Green brings a summer of outdoor cinema and free live sport to the heart of Newcastle City Centre.

Pull up a deck chair in Old Eldon Square and enjoy free blockbuster films, live sport and entertainment. Films will be aired at 12noon and 3pm with an occasional 6pm screening allowing you to make the most of the long summer evenings. Timings for live sport will vary.

NE1's Screen on The Green is a summertime staple in the heart of Newcastle which usually takes place to coincide with the school summer holidays. Shoppers in the city centre can once again chill out in the summer sunshine (!) with two to three films streamed each day.

Grab some popcorn or a bite to eat from a neighbouring restaurant, relax in one of NE1’s iconic deckchairs and take in some top-class movies – from big blockbusters and family-friendly films to cult classics and rom-coms.

Alongside over 80 films, Screen on the Green also screens amazing live sport events including major events like Wimbledon, the British Grand Prix, and the Tour de France.
