A 90 minute art class for 7 - 12 year olds with their grown ups, led by artist Steph. You'll learn artistic techniques and work on a finished piece to take home. Each session has a different theme. Accompanying adults are encouraged to join in - the class is a great opportunity for families to enjoy creative time together.
Thursday 9 April: Optical Illusion Artworks
An agamograph is an artform that transforms a static image into a dynamic masterpiece, altering when viewed from various angles. Using the Shipley collection as inspiration, youll draw two separate images to create one amazing optical illusion agamograph. Which combination will you choose: will you mix goats with crocodile eggs, or birds with chairs? The choice is yours!
Thursday 16 April: Reverse Perspective Art Gallery
Reverse perspective is an optical illusion which makes a drawing look like it's coming out towards the viewer. Taking inspiration from the Shipley, you'll create your own reverse perspective art gallery drawing. You'll draw gallery rooms with artworks on display, and learn clever perspective drawing techniques to make them look 3-dimensional.
Important:
Each child must have a child's ticket. If there is not enough availability, please try another session.
Children cannot attend on an adult's ticket.
Accompanying adults need an adult's ticket.
Suitable for ages 7 - 12.
All children must be accompanied by an adult.
Accompanying younger siblings and babies cannot be admitted.
Families are welcome to bring a snack and drink.
