Takeaway coffees in Newcastle

  • 1901 Caffe Bistro, Manors and Jesmond - if you want a coffee from the ultimate takeaway cup, then head to 1901 (pictured).
  • Olive and Bean, Newcastle – online preorder is recommended for cakes, snacks and treats but you’re welcome to walk up (and queue) for your coffee.
  • Pink Lane Bakery, Newcastle – along the cobbled streets of Newcastle city centre, the local bakery serves up freshly ground coffee as well as other hot drinks, cakes, savoury pastries and fresh bread.
  • Wylam Brewery at Palace of Arts, Exhibition Park – if you're enjoying a stroll in Exhibition Park or fancy lazing beside the lake in the sunshine, you can now grab a takeaway coffee or soft drink and choose from bacon sarnies, cakes and pastries (no beer!) too.
  • Arlo, Jesmond - grab a takeaway coffee 5-days a week from the stylish Jesmond restaurant. You can drop in to buy a coffee, cakes and some menu items or plan ahead with a preorder online for collection only.
  • Cake Stories, Jesmond - Operating a kerb-side-kiosk providing tea, coffee, scones, pastries and of course... cake!
  • Naked Deli, Heaton, Newcastle, Gosforth – whether it's protein shakes or a healthy lunch, Naked Deli are running a click and collect service as well as delivery options for food, but if you're in the Heaton area - just drop in a grab a takeaway.
  • The Cycle Hub, Ouseburn – the ideal pit stop for cyclists, enjoy a takeaway coffee with stunning views along the Quayside. Loos are closed, card payment only.
  • Kiln, Ouseburn - you can also pre-order a pottery class at Kiln when you grab your takeaway coffee! 
  • Valerie’s Tea Room, Spanish City – Not strictly, Newcastle but Whitley Bay, Valerie's Tea Room has reopened for you to just walk-in to buy your takeaway hot drink and then enjoy your cup of coffee or brew overlooking the North Sea along Whitley Bay seafront.

Takeaway coffees in Gateshead

  • Staiths Cafe, Gateshead – as well as using their handy app to pre-order, you can walk up to Staiths Café and grab a coffee or hot drink to takeaway.
  • Stairwayz Cafe, Low Fell Gateshead - the independent cafe in Low Fell has reopened for takeaway coffee, cake and lunches as well as Afternoon Tea takeaways and picnic boxes
  • Backyard Bike Shop, Gateshead Quayside – a hipster’s paradise on the Gateshead banks of the River Tyne – join the queue at Backyard Bike Shop and follow their social distancing protocol. It's worth it for a Matcha Latte or Chai Tea Latte on the go.
  • The Nest, Low Fell Gateshead - is still currently closed but check their Facebook pages for more information.
  • Good Brew, Gateshead - is still closed but is aiming to reopen soon. Check back for more information!
