Booking a ticket to spend some quality time with Father Christmas this year is a tricky ticket to get your hands on! There is understandably high demand for festive fun this year as we all try and add a little sparkle and escapism to the end of a rather challenging 2020!

We have pulled together six Christmas experiences and events in Newcastle and Gateshead that you can currently book tickets for including two fabulous light trails, a Christmas film must-see and (hopefully) some hot tickets to enjoy a bite to eat with Santa himself.

As soon as tickets for Christmas events go on sale, they have sold out with the likes of Fenwick Newcastle's Santa on the Rooftop activities and The Alnwick Garden's meet Father Christmas events being prime examples. With a limited capacity for hosting events and important social distancing measures and restrictions in place, it is understandable that things are a little more difficult to book this year.

Families looking for a Christmas event to enjoy with the children in NewcastleGateshead or big kids who are ready to laugh it off with some festive cheer can still find Christmas shows and events. Booking early is a must this year so take a look at six hot tickets to book now.

We shall keep updating our website and blogs with information about what's on this Christmas for families and grown-ups alike as well as where you can meet Father Christmas in Newcastle, Gateshead and the North East as more venues, attractions and hotels announce their plans for Christmas events.

Father Christmas on his holidays in Newcastle

Breakfast, dinner or tea - Father Christmas loves to dine out and would love you to join him! A number of hotels in NewcastleGateshead have booked the big fella to come for a meal and would love to invite you to join too. Grab a bite with Santa before he takes to the skies at The Vermont or The County Hotel in Newcastle. He's a popular guy – both breakfast and supper club events at the much-loved department store Fenwick Newcastle sold out almost instantly, but there are still other options to dine out with Santa. Many of the hotels require you to call up and book your table so we cannot guarantee which events with Father Christmas are still available.
