Fast food with a conscience! Vegano started life as a small food truck and was a frequent visitor to the Quayside Market. They have now opened their very own restaurant in the city centre, and although we can’t physically grace their premises, people of the North East can still enjoy Vegano’s scrumptious food delivered straight to the door. From donner wraps to juicy burgers and delicious non-dairy desserts, Vegano is certainly a go-to choice for a vegan fast-food fix.

Karma Kitchen Café is run by an Indian vegan family based in Newcastle city centre. Headed up by two sisters and their Mam as the head chef, the Karma crew have taken the North East food scene by storm with their doorstep deliveries of delicious North-Indian vegan food. For those with a sweeter tooth, the trio have not only mastered the perfect curry, but are also a dab hand at baking, too! Steak n Ale no longer needs to be a pie in the sky idea for North East vegans, thanks to local legends Magpye. These guys cook up – yep, you guessed it, vegan pies! Pre lockdown we could enjoy the pie and mash goodness at their residency in By The River Brew Co, but the ever innovative pie professionals now offer delivery, meaning we can all get dough-eyed over their chickn Balti, or plant-powered twist on the classic mince and onion. Delivered fresh and frozen to guarantee top quality, these are a good freezer stocker for when you’re pie-ning (that’s our last one, we promise!) for a perfect pastry parcel.
