Expect plenty of energy and events across the Newcastle and Gateshead area this upcoming festive period as there are firework celebrations planned all over the region. Celebrating New Years’ Eve with a glittering fireworks display is a tradition executed to perfection in Newcastle and Gateshead.
This New Year’s Eve, the Quayside will come alive with two incredible firework displays to bid farewell to 2026 and welcome 2027 in unforgettable style. Looking for something family-friendly? There’s also a free fireworks celebration at 6pm, with festive entertainment and street food (No tickets are needed for the 6pm display.)
Get ready to celebrate New Year’s Eve in style on the Quayside as Howaymanay returns for Newcastle’s biggest NYE celebration. Howaymanay is a ticket-only celebration that will transform the Quayside into a party village filled with energy and entertainment from 8:30pm! Expect incredible live music across two stages, roaming performers lighting up the streets, festive food stalls, and bars serving seasonal cheer. Then, as the clock strikes midnight, all eyes will turn to the River Tyne for a spectacular firework finale, illuminating the skyline and bringing Newcastle’s Christmas 2026 celebrations to a close.
