Celebrate the arrival of 2025 in style with two show stopping firework displays lighting up the Newcastle and Gateshead Quayside this New Year’s Eve. Returning for the first time since 2019, these free public displays are the grand finale of Newcastle’s Christmas 2024 celebrations.

Date: Tuesday, 31 December 2024
Times:

• 6:00 PM – A family-friendly display for an early New Year celebration.
• Midnight – A spectacular display to welcome in the New Year in style.
  Location: The best views are from the designated viewing areas along the Newcastle Quayside (under the Tyne Bridge to the Cycle Hub) and Baltic Square on Gateshead Quayside. Fireworks will also be visible from various other spots across Newcastle and Gateshead.

What to Expect

Experience two breathtaking 15-minute displays created by the award-winning Reaction Fireworks, set against the iconic backdrop of the Tyne Bridge and the Quayside.

Arrive early to soak up the atmosphere, with live entertainment an hour before each display (from 5:00 PM and 11:00 PM). Keep an eye out for walkabout performers and local traders as you explore the nearby restaurants, cafes, and bars for a complete evening of celebrations.

• Metro: The closest Metro stations are Central Station and Gateshead Interchange, both just a 10-15 minute walk from the Quayside.

• Driving: Road closures will be in place from 4:00 PM - be sure to arrive early to allow time to find suitable parking!
