NE1's Screen on the Green

NE1's Screen on the Green is back for 2026!

If you're looking for something to do this summer, head to Old Eldon Square where the award-winning Screen on the Green returns from mid-July until the end of August.

The free outdoor cinema will show two to three films every day, with everything from family favourites and blockbuster hits to cult classics and rom-coms. Grab some popcorn or food from one of the nearby restaurants, sink into one of NE1's famous deckchairs and enjoy a film in the sunshine.
