I Daniel Blake By Dave Johns - Second Act Theatre
Daniel Blake is a 59-year-old carpenter in Newcastle who, after suffering a heart attack, finds himself unable to work. Yet despite medical advice, he is denied Employment and Support Allowance and must navigate the dehumanising world of the welfare system.

Along the way he meets Katie, a single mother who has been relocated from London to Newcastle, and together they form an unlikely but powerful bond of friendship and solidarity.

A story rooted in social realism, I, Daniel Blake is both a deeply human tale and a searing critique of inequality, compassion, and dignity in modern Britain.

Please note that Second Act will be collecting monetary and food donations for a local food bank each night of the show, so please bring along anything you can spare.
