Grow you own Food
How to grow food in a backyard or on a balcony to reduce reliance on the industrial food system. By Mark Ridsill Smith
Talk will have a BSL Interpreter.
This is the first talk of the day 11AM - 11.45AM

Growing food in a small space can help you eat healthier, tastier and more affordable food nearly all year round. Growing at home in containers has several advantages over an allotment and will often make as much - if not more - difference to the food you eat. The secret is to choose carefully what to grow and to use your harvests to add diversity and flavour to your meals.

In this workshop you will discover how and what to grow in containers to:-
Eat organic, affordable and tasty fresh vegetables and herbs all year round. Grow your own herbs and spring onions to transform low cost staples like beans and rice into delicious meals. Eat a wider diversity by growing plants that aren't sold in the supermarkets.
The talk will include practical demonstrations of how to grow some of the easiest and most productive crops to grow in small spaces.
