A app based activity for families and home educated children.
An exciting free learning adventure for KS2 level learners at the Great North Museum: Hancock.
Time Odyssey is a fun, interactive learning experience that takes children on a quest through their local museum physically and virtually.
Created by Art Explora and the British Museum, using pioneering technology, children engage with museum collections in a completely new way!
Time Odyssey is a blended learning adventure which is played on a tablet. Children work in small groups of 2 or 3 per tablet, assisted by parents and museum staff. At its centre is a dynamic, user-friendly app which encourages children to learn through play and storytelling.
But its not all digital! Children are involved in choosing and analysing museum objects, as well as teamwork, creative activities, photography and discussion.
What happens?
Students meet characters lost in time:
* Revna the Viking ofthe Sea
* Cheng a Trainee Scribe from Ancient China
* Felix future Centurion from Roman Britain
* Hori a tomb painter from Ancient Egypt.
Children choose a character, then take on a series of challenges to help them get home. How? By gathering enough energy from museum objects to open a time portal!!
Each family group will have one tablet for an adult and 1 tablet between up to three children. Children will take turns in their family group to complete challenges.
The fun and upbeat musical follows the adventures of a sorority girl named Elle Woods...
