In this session James Gerrard, Prof of Roman Archaeology at Newcastle University will introduce you to Roman hoards. Using a combination of presentation and interactive activities we will explore how hoards are found, the legal definition of Treasure and consider the archaeological evidence for why they may have been deposited in the ground.
