From St Cuthbert to the Wizard of the North: The Magical Legends of the North East - Newcastle Castle

The North East, and indeed Newcastle itself, is stuffed to the brim with legends of dragons, wizards, vampires (yes, really), saints, witches, and Border Reivers. Even Queen Mab herself and King Arthur make an appearance in a story or two. Given the long and tumultuous history of the region, the presence of such legends is no surprise - our heroes walk tall, whether they're armed with a musket or a simple shovel. This talk will take you on a whistle-stop tour through a handful of our most rousing stories, featuring tales of derring-do, shapeshifting, prophetic visions, and mighty magical deeds!
