We're Good to Go

The measures we have put in place:

  • Daily cleaning routines have been increased. We will close our doors for 30 minutes from 1.30pm to 2pm each day to allow time to clean areas open to the public.
  • All staff will be wearing clear visors and gloves when serving customers.
  • Hand sanitisation stations have been installed throughout the building including the entrance and exits on street level and on Level 2 near the toilets.
  • We are admitting fewer people, so if it’s busy you might be asked to queue.
  • A one-way system is in place. Doors are designated as entrance and exit only. There is signage clearly indicates which way to go.
  • Buggies will be admitted on street level only.
  • There are toilets available for customers to use on Level 2.

How you can help when visiting us:

  • In line with government advice, we are asking all visitors to wear a face-covering when visiting Seven Stories.
  • Please use hand sanitiser before handling books.
  • To avoid handling items as much as possible we ask that at the till you hold books with the barcode facing up for us to scan.
  • There is no need to book a ticket to visit us at this stage.
  • Card payments will be required to purchase any items.

Seven Stories Bookshop is an independent children's bookshop in the heart of Ouseburn, Newcastle. Part of popular visitor attraction, Seven Stories, The National Centre for Children's Books, the bookshop is a treasure trove of loved books for children of all ages, avid readers, developing readers, fans of YA fiction, an extensive range of colourful picture books and much more. Adults will also love browsing nostalgic children's books, reference books and illustrated novels. There is a book for all bookworms from babies and toddlers to children, teenagers and adults alike.

Browse the bookshelves or enjoy a hot drink in the coffee shop area surrounded by books. The local bookshop is a great place to buy gifts and unique souvenirs when you are in Newcastle.
