If you’re looking to add a bit heat to your festive season, Dakwala on Grainger Street is serving a festive feast that mixes classic Indian dishes with the signature taste of Bombay with some seasonal favourites. Running up until 30th December, it’s ideal for groups of four or more, with everyone at the table choosing the same menu. For £34.95 per person, the feast includes a welcome drink, canteen-style snacks, a selection of main curries, Dakwala’s house black daal, rice, naan, festive berry potatoes and dessert. SIX Rooftop, Gateshead

Dine in style this Christmas at SIX Rooftop as throughout December and right up to 4th January, the restaurant located on the top floor of BALTIC, is serving a line-up of festive dishes made with high-quality local ingredients and classic flavours given a modern twist. You can choose the Christmas Tasting Menu, featuring standout dishes from both land and sea, or opt for the Christmas Prix Fixe or Christmas Sunday Lunch menu, which offer traditional dishes with a festive twist - priced at £38 for two courses or £45 for three. Banyan has plenty of festive options to choose from this year, but the Festive Bottomless Brunch is a standout. Running until 3pm and priced at £43.95 per person, it includes 90 minutes of free-flowing drinks and a tasty brunch dish, with seasonal twists and even upgrades like the 'all the trimmings' burger or a ciabatta steak melt. You’ll kick things off with a warming house mulled wine and a mini soup of the day, before tucking into savoury bites like caramelised-onion & Gruyère quiche, pork-leek-sage sausage roll and smoked-salmon-and-cream-cheese crostini. Of course, it wouldn’t be afternoon tea without something sweet, you can expect festive scones, sweet mince frangipane tarts, and endless top-ups of tea or coffee.
