Award-winning restaurant Blackfriars Restaurant has just launched their traditional Afternoon Teas which can be enjoyed at the Newcastle-based restaurant or can be ordered online from Blackfriars at Home as a takeaway to devour at home over the weekend. Blackfriars Restaurant's afternoon teas, which include a tasty range of classic sandwiches, scones and delicious cakes, are available for takeaway on Friday and Saturday afternoons with advance bookings. 

The French Oven at Grainger Market

The French Oven are bakers found in Grainger Market - Newcastle’s indoor market – are one of the traders offering a delivery service. It's a great value option too as you can order a French Oven Afternoon Tea from just £10. Your tasty Afternoon Tea will be made up of a selection of sandwiches, scones, mini savouries like pork pies and sausage rolls, as well as cakes and brownies.

Monsieur Crepe, Heaton

Monsieur Crepe is a small but very popular independent café on the edge of Heaton, Newcastle and they are providing takeaway Afternoon Teas and special picnic boxes. The cafe has not reopened for sit-in visits yet but does continue to deliver its delights to your door! Call in advance to order from the café for delivery between 9.30am and 12 noon on your chosen day. Olive and Bean, Newcastle city centre

Build your own Afternoon Tea – or should we say, Afternoon Feast – from Olive and Bean. The hugely popular café in Newcastle city centre has just reopened for takeaway collection only and all your favourite tray bakes, blondies, brownies, quiches and treats are available for online pre-order.

The Great British Cupcakery, Newcastle Quayside

The cute Quayside café has been keeping the folk of NewcastleGateshead going during the coronavirus pandemic with deliveries of their weekly postal treat boxes. Now, The Great British Cupcakery have launched their online Afternoon Tea orders which can be collected from their café.

1901 Caffe Bistro, Jesmond

Jesmond-based café, 1901 has a selection of Afternoon Teas which can be ordered online for delivery across Newcastle and some Gateshead postcodes. Each person can select up to 3 sandwich fillings to accompany the scones and cakes! The independent cafe has also introduced a special Gentleman's Afternoon Tea, just in time for Father's Day. Order online from 1901 Jesmond for delivery to your door!

Grants of Corbridge, Northumberland

Tuck into an Afternoon Tea for one or gather safely with your friends or family for an Afternoon Tea for 4 people from Grants of Corbridge. The Northumberland bakery is delivering their traditional Afternoon Teas to postcodes in Corbridge, Hexham, Gosforth, Jesmond, Rowlands Gill and some other Northumberland, Newcastle and Gateshead postcodes too. There may be a charge for delivery to areas outside Corbridge - all details are on their website.

Spanish City, Whitley Bay

If you’re planning a weekend indulgence, then the stunning seaside venue, Spanish City, has reopened to provide call and collect Afternoon Tea takeaways on Saturdays and Sundays. The mouth-watering Afternoon Tea menu includes a stylish selection of patisseries, cakes, delicate sandwiches and scones for £14.95.

Guests can now enjoy Afternoon Tea underneath the iconic dome at Spanish City and dine in. You need to book your Afternoon Tea at least 24 hours in advance. Eat-in at Spanish City: Friday – Sunday, 12 – 5pm. You need to order at least 24 hours in advance for either takeaway or dining in (call 07415 429 998).

Beckleberry's Afternoon Treat Box

Family-run business Beckleberry's of Blaydon have been offering the people of Newcastle and Gateshead a taste of their award-winning ice cream and patisseries with weekday deliveries during lockdown. Order an Afternoon Treat Box with dainty, bite size cakes, mini quiches and the classic scone selection. We're particularly enjoying their addition of the UK lockdown staple - 2 slices of banana loaf - as a nod to all you home bakers! Stairwayz is a local coffee shop in Low Fell, Gateshead which is open for take-out and collection orders on everything from breakfast, milkshakes, smoothies, ice cream, picnic boxes and afternoon tea.
