The tasty treat can be enjoyed in the outside spaces at the Newcastle-based restaurant or is also available for takeaway. Blackfriars Restaurant's afternoon teas, which include a tasty range of classic sandwiches, scones and delicious cakes, are available for collection and delivery. Bookings must be made 24 hours in advance. Order a cheeky cocktail for two while you're at it! 

The French Oven are independent bakers found inside Grainger Market and are one of the resident traders offering a delivery service. It's a great value option too as you can order a French Oven Afternoon Tea from just £10. Your tasty Afternoon Tea will be made up of a selection of sandwiches, scones, mini savouries like pork pies and sausage rolls, as well as cakes and brownies.

Jesmond Dene House is the self-proclaimed originator of refined Afternoon Teas in Newcastle. The luxury, independent hotel tucked in the depths of tranquil Jesmond Dene is now venturing into Takeout Afternoon Tea. Get the same indulgence and luxury you'd expect from a Jesmond Dene House menu to enjoy in the comfort of your own home. Monsieur Crepe is a small but very popular independent café on the edge of Heaton, Newcastle and they are providing takeaway Afternoon Teas and special picnic boxes, as well as their full menu for takeaway during the November lockdown. 

Orders can be made for takeaway or collection every weekend throughout lockdown, Saturday & Sunday 10am until 3pm. Please give at least 24 hours notice for Afternoon Teas.

Build your own Afternoon Tea – or should we say, Afternoon Feast – from Olive and Bean. The hugely popular café in Newcastle city centre has a great selection of favourite tray bakes, blondies, brownies, quiches and treats which are available to takeaway.  Pre-order online here and either pick a whole cake, choose from a 'pick your own' brownie or tiffin box, or go the whole hog with a delicious Picnic Box. Even if you are picnicking on your carpet, it will still be worth it!

The cute Quayside café has been keeping the folk of NewcastleGateshead going during all year and throughout the many ups and downs of the coronavirus pandemic. with deliveries of their weekly postal treat boxes. The Great British Cupcakery have launched their online Afternoon Tea orders (£16.99) which can be collected from their café at weekends only.

You can also order celebration cakes, cupcakes, treat boxes and more online which can be collected from the Quayside cafe at weekends or posted nationwide.

Family-run business Beckleberry's of Blaydon have been offering the people of Newcastle and Gateshead a taste of their award-winning ice cream and patisseries with tasty deliveries during lockdown. Order an Afternoon Treat Box with dainty, bite size cakes, mini quiches and the classic scone selection for delivery on Wednesdays - Saturdays. We're particularly delighted to spot their addition of the UK lockdown staple - 2 slices of banana loaf - as a nod to all you home bakers! Stairwayz is a local coffee shop in Low Fell, Gateshead which is open for take-out and collection orders on everything from breakfast, milkshakes, smoothies, ice cream, picnic boxes and afternoon tea.
