    12 teams, 2 days, 1 epic event! The Betfred Super League Magic Weekend returns to St. James’ Park, Newcastle this May marking the 10th anniversary of the event.

    The Summer Festival of Super League Rugby will take place over the May Bank Holiday, 3rd and 4th May and will see six huge Super League clashes all hosted from the same stadium, with top teams taking each other on across the two days.

    What is Magic Weekend?

    Magic Weekend is an annual event organised by the Rugby Football League where an entire round of Super League matches are played over one-weekend.

    It’s the 10th anniversary of Super League’s first Magic Weekend at St James’ Park, in 2015, and the eighth time in the subsequent decade that Rugby League has staged its unique festival at the home of Newcastle United.

    The event has become a key date in the rugby calendar, and fans from across the UK flock to the city to be part of the magic. The weekend is jam-packed with six thrilling fixtures, from Leigh Leopards taking on Catalans Dragons to Hull KR clashing with Salford Red Devils. You won’t want to miss a moment of the heart-stopping action, where every try, tackle, and try-saving moment builds the intensity.

    But Magic Weekend isn’t just about the rugby, it’s a full-on celebration! The Fan Zone is a playground for fans of all ages, offering live entertainment, interactive games, delicious food stalls, and an electrifying atmosphere that brings people together. Whether you're enjoying the buzz of the crowd, dancing along to live music, or grabbing a bite with friends, there’s always something exciting happening off the pitch too.

    Who is playing?

    The 2025 line-up, determined as usual by the league placings, includes a repeat of the 2024 Betfred Challenge Cup Final between Wigan Warriors and Warrington Wolves as the Sunday afternoon centrepiece - and a first ever Magic staging of the classic Super League rivalry between St Helens and Leeds Rhinos on Saturday night.

    3pm - Leigh Leopards v Catalans Dragons

    5.15pm - Hull KR v Salford Red Devils

    7.30pm - St Helens v Leeds Rhinos

    Sunday, 4 May

    3.15pm - Wigan Warriors v Warrington Wolves

    Tickets are available for the full weekend or for individual days.

    Adult tickets start at just £30 for one day, and £45 for the weekend and kids from £15 for the day and £22.50 for the weekend.

    Take advantage of the festival’s “Pass Out System” in between matches and head to the Fan Zone on Strawberry Place, with live entertainment; special guests, games, rides, competitions, event retail units, plus food and beverage stalls.
