Located in the heart of Newcastle’s bustling city centre and ideally situated for fans travelling from near or far, St. James’ Park is one of the most accessible and well-connected football grounds in the UK.
Accessing the stadium is remarkably convenient, thanks to the city's public transportation system. Whether arriving by train, bus, or metro, fans can easily make their way to the stadium's doorstep, amplifying the sense of excitement as matchday nears. The anticipation builds as you approach St. James' Park, a stunning landmark that dominates the Newcastle skyline.
The iconic Tyne and Wear Metro system stops directly at St. James' Park, ensuring seamless connectivity for visitors from all corners of the city and beyond. We recommend St. James’ Metro station for local coastal destinations, while Monument station – a five-minute walk away – is served by both yellow and green line routes towards Newcastle International Airport, South Shields and the coast. Please visit Nexus’ website for more information on using the Nexus Tyne and Wear Metro.
The stadium is located close to the junction of Gallowgate, St. James’ Boulevard and Barrack Road, just a ten-minute walk from Newcastle Central Station. Walk west along Neville Street (A186) and turn right onto St. James’ Boulevard. The stadium is located at the top of the road and will become visible as you reach the junction with Bath Lane/Wellington Street. You can follow the pedestrian signs located throughout the city centre.
To reach St James' Park stadium in Newcastle from Newcastle Airport, you have several transportation options:
