Snakes Ladders
A game of chance, no skills required. Its all on the roll of a dice.

After a hugely successful, five-star rated, and sold-out run at Laurels in Whitley Bay, Burlison Entertainment is excited to bring their impactful one-act play, Snakes & Ladders, to the Newcastle Fringe Festival. This moving production offers a powerful look at the mental health struggles faced by todays vulnerable young people, while also highlighting the often inadequate responses from the healthcare system.

At the core of Snakes & Ladders is Cara West, a 17-year-old girl who has been battling her mental health for years, feeling ignored and misunderstood. The play explores her journey as she builds a life-changing connection with psychologist Simon Stephens, a caring listener who helps her work through her emotional struggles. Through their heartfelt interactions, Snakes & Ladders shows the powerful impact that someone who truly listens can have on a young person in crisis.

More than just a play, Snakes & Ladders is an important voice for mental health awareness. It sends a clear message that help is available, encouraging people to reach out for support and reminding them that no one should face their problems alone. With its honest storytelling and genuine performances, Snakes & Ladders is a must-see for anyone who wants to help break the stigma around mental health and support those in need.

The play, in its original performance, received reviews from audience members and prestigious North East reviewers InNewcastle.co.uk which has allowed us to progress onto new opportunities like the Fringe Festival:
