Science Now! hub – Buzzing About Bees

Discover all about bees at Newcastle’s Life Science Centre’s brand-new Science Now! hub.

Buzzing About Bees will shine a spotlight on the importance of these insects to our planet and how we can help them.

The new hub aims to shine a light on current science issues that impact everyone.

Visitors will be able to learn about the latest cutting-edge research in the North East, take part in interactive quizzes, meet and listen to local scientists and learn ways to bring science into their everyday lives.

Highlights include:

• A surprising and everyday object that scientists use to catch bees.
• A sneak-peak inside a bee lab where scientists monitor the behaviour of bees when they come face to face with potential threats.
• A chance to share your ideas and learn how help bees at home.

The science centre will be closed from 9 - 29 January for essential maintenance. (The ice rink will remain open until 15 January).
