Newcastle is set to sparkle once again this winter as Northern Lights Newcastle returns to Leazes Park. Featuring never-before-seen displays, the light trail promises to delight both returning visitors and first-timers, making 2025 the most magical year yet!
What to expect this year:
Spiropath: A 15-metre dome of thousands of LED spheres, pulsing in sync with a high-energy soundtrack for a 360° light and music spectacle.
Aurora Lilies: White lilies that glow and shift colour after dark, transforming pathways into a luminous garden.
River of Light: Over 8,000 glowing LEDs ripple like water, synchronised to a bespoke musical score by Ithaca Studio.
Ho-Ho-Hues: Eleven light pillars with moving bulbs and intersecting colours, creating a constantly shifting display.
Lantern Tree Lane: A pathway lined with lanterns designed by children at RVI Hospital, glowing with colour and community spirit.
The Pearl Blossom: Floating blossoms that glow in soft hues, choreographed to music and drifting gently on the lake.
Jungle Tree: A rainforest-themed transformation with neon vines, glowing moss, and an atmospheric soundscape.
Butterfly Blizzard: Neon butterflies ripple with colour and music, creating a magical, photo-worthy moment.
At the end of the trail, visitors will also be entertained with a variety of festive treats within the Christmas Village, including the warmth of mulled wine, hot chocolate, and toasted marshmallows, as well as vintage fairground rides.
