Who’s on stage

The Glasshouse couldn’t open their season with anyone else – the North East's own Royal Northern Sinfonia and Chorus, led by Dinis Sousa and joined by a top-tier bunch of singers including Christina Gansch, who’s recently appeared in San Francisco, Zurich and at London’s Royal Opera House.

What they’re playing

Mozart’s sublimely beautiful opera, Così fan tutte (The School for Lovers). Perhaps best thought of as a romantic comedy, the opera sees a test of infidelity goes disastrously wrong…

What's happening in the music?

What’s special about this opera is that there’s no one star – every single member of the cast is as important as the next – it’s a team effort, including the orchestra and chorus. That team gets to play and sing some of Mozart’s most stunningly beautiful music – including incredible moments when all four soloists come together for passages of stunning intricacy and emotional power.
