Matt Stalker Fables with support from Nev Clay
After a decade-long hiatus, Matt Stalker & Fables return with a slightly altered line-up but playing the same literary chamber folk that earned them a dedicated following in the 2010s.

Drawing comparisons to artists from Kings of Convenience, Paul Simon and Damien Rice to Bon Iver and Jeff Buckley, Matt Stalker & Fables are a chamber folk ensemble from Newcastle whose spine tingling supremely melodic songs are capable of holding you absolutely rapt (The Crack). The titular Matt Stalker is a psychotherapist and self-confessed word lover, whose literary lyrics veer between earnest and the irreverent as they explore the ways we all tie ourselves in knots sometimes. His beautifully crafted finger style acoustic guitar and underusing vocal arrangements are embellished variously with cello, electric guitars, clarinet, saxophone, percussion, piano and vocals.

Praise for KNOTS (2014 Album):

Understated yet immensely powerful A strong contender for the most beautifully crafted, lyrically affecting album of the year
KNOTS is immensely beautiful (Journal Culture Magazine)
Spine-tingling supremely melodic songs capable of holding you absolutely rapt (The Crack)
An immensely talented band (newcastlegateshead.com)
