From the German electronic producer Christian Löffler’s mesmerising reworkings of classical music, to the nature-inspired soundscapes of Scottish duo Kinbrae and an Indian raga at sunrise from Jasdeep Singh Degun, through to adventurous jazz, improvisation and spoken word, After Dark Festival will explore the sounds of the night from 6pm on Saturday to 6am on Sunday, celebrating the melodic journey to dawn, including a unique overnight 4-hour deep night immersive experience with live performances from Manchester Collective, Memotone and others.BBC Radio 3 presenters Elizabeth Alker, Hannah Peel, Sara Mohr-Pietsch, Corey Mwamba, Jennifer Lucy Allan, Ian McMillan and Matthew Sweet will guide us through the night, and performances from After Dark Festival will be broadcast in Radio 3’s Unclassified, Late Junction, New Music Show, Freeness, Free Thinking and The Verb from 24 – 27 March, culminating in a special through-the-night edition of Night Tracks as the clocks change to Spring Time and light returns to our daily lives.Sage Gateshead is delighted to host its first ever overnight event – join us for a very special experience.
