AD 126. Hadrians builders completed the fort, named Segedunum, with soldiers remaining for 400 years at the end of the Roman wall. This however was just the start of the history along the banks of the river Tyne, a place which became known as Wallsend.

Join Keiran-Ann Keilty on a walk through its industrial heritage looking at local life and work for people over the centuries. Though coal, sail and steam were part of its past, education in renewable subsea and offshore engineering is part of its future!
