Moth Mornings - Washington Wetland Centre

Stag grazing on grass
Join resident moth man Andrew as he opens his moth trap to reveal the incredible species hiding in our wetlands. Families can enjoy a relaxed, drop-in wildlife experience, discovering moths like the poplar hawk & white satin up close while learning about their fascinating behaviours. It’s a brilliant addition to our Dragonfly Festival & a great way to enjoy nature activities, wildlife experiences & family events at WWT Washington Wetland Centre.

Accessibility: The Education Barn offers level access, the space is limited and wheelchairs & buggies can be left outside. It is a calm indoor environment. Visitors can choose whether to handle moths or simply observe, making the activity suitable for a wide range of sensory & mobility needs. See more information about our centres accessibility here.

All included in the price of admission, no booking required. Just come along & get curious.
