Set within Cobalt Studios’ Backyard in the Ouseburn, the sauna and cold plunges form a shared space to unwind, connect, and enjoy the refreshing balance of heat and cold. Sæla is Old Norse for happiness, which is exactly what you’ll get from your sauna experience. Our sauna was handcrafted in Denmark by Scandinavian Sauna, known for its traditional craftsmanship.

It seats ten, includes a private changing area, and offers a peaceful, accessible and luxurious sauna experience. Our cold plunge baths from Chill Tub feature a built-in filtration system and chiller, keeping the water cold, clean, and clear at all times.

Whether you come to unwind, meet new people, or simply escape the noise of Newcastle, we’ve got space for you. No experience needed. No right way to do it. Just show up, breathe deep, and let the heat do the rest.

To get the most out of your session, it’s important to come prepared. Here’s what you need to bring:

Towels – a small towel to sit on and one to dry yourself with after the session

Water – to keep hydrated during your sauna session

Footwear – flip flops or sliders to go from the sauna to the cold plunge with ease

Swimwear – we have a small changing room, but you can maximise your sauna time by arriving in your swimwear

A change of clothes – for when you finish your session
