Bamburgh Castle Estate brings together the majesty of Bamburgh Castle and the newly opened Bamburgh Walled Garden in the spectacular coastal destination of Bamburgh village.
Privately owned by the Armstrong family, the Estate blends centuries of heritage with modern creativity and stewardship.
At its centre stands Bamburgh Castle, an internationally recognised coastal fortress, former royal citadel to the Kings of Northumbria and the real Last Kingdom of Bebbanburg. Open all year round, visitors experience an unforgettable journey through time. From ancient kings and medieval battles to the innovation and vision of Victorian industrialist William Armstrong. Today it is an award-winning visitor attraction and wedding venue with events and exhibitions taking place throughout the year.
There are also self-catering holiday properties within the Castle walls and in Bamburgh village.
Complementing the Castle is Bamburgh Walled Garden. A hidden gem in the heart of Bamburgh village, this once forgotten space has been reimagined into a vibrant, inclusive place for everyone to enjoy. Open year-round this incredible new destination has a café with an emphasis on local food, natural children’s playground and grounds including a sensory garden and labyrinth. Fully accessible and inclusive there is a Changing Places Toilet with designated parking.
