The Redhouse

Eating out at The Redhouse on Newcastle Quayside is the perfect place for pie lovers as their menu is nothing but great pies! All of their pies are handmade especially by the award-winning Amble Butchers, who source prime meats from the Northumbrian area. Firstly, pick your pie and pair it with one of their signature mashes, ranging from cheddar cheese to garlic. Add your peas and finish with a ‘liquor’ of your choice. It doesn’t get much better than that. In celebration of British Pie Week - they often create a special menu.

The French Oven

The French Oven are an independent artisan bakery who trust the ‘shop local & support local’ ethos. With over 10 homemade pies to choose from, The French Oven offers something for everyone. Located in the heart of the Grainger Market and starting at only £1.30, these pies make the perfect lunch time treat. Whether it's a mince pie, scotch pie, pork pie or steak and kidney pie, pop into the Grainger Market in Newcastle city centre or order online for home delivery from The French Oven.

The Broad Chare

For those pie lovers who enjoy the finer things in life, The Broad Chare on Newcastle Quayside is a traditional pub-style restaurant well worth a visit. If you want to sample a bar snack while you grab a pint, tuck into a hand-raised pork pie which can be found on the snacks menu for £4.20 each and are set to get your taste buds tingling. On Thursdays, treat yourself to the Dish of the Day - a Steak and Kidney Pudding or get your gnashers round a Duck and Smoked Bacon Pie which is currently part of The Broad Chare's specials menu.

The Central*

The Central promise you hearty "pies and not stews with hats on!" Tuck into a steaming pie packed with tasty fillings including mince and onion, corned beef and steak, kidney and ale. The Central is a friendly and relaxed pub with great live music and unique surroundings. If you're a vegetarian - don't fear, they have a delicious Country Vegetable pie, Mac and Cheese pie or a Cheese and Potato pie to choose from.

The Botanist Newcastle

City centre bar and restaurant, The Botanist have recently revamped their full menu and pie-lovers will be pleased to see two delicious pies now included on the menu. Diners can choose from a braised lamb pie or mushroom and squash pie. 

The Punchbowl, Jesmond

The recently refurbished dog-friendly pub goes all out to bring you the very best in pies with a weekly event dedicated to the popular pub grub. Pop along for Pie Society every Thursday night at The Punchbowl and tuck into a steak and brown ale pie, roast chicken and gammon pie or vegan friendly meatless shepherd's pie.
