    1.Dobson & Parnell

    The popular luxurious restaurant Dobson & Parnell hosts frequent wine tasting events. Set within a Victorian Grade II listed building, the interiors help you step into the majestic grandeur that is wine tasting. This October, the venue is welcoming back Hamish Breddon, from González Byass. The González Byass wine story began in 1835 and is now in the hands of the fifth generation of winemakers. He will be hosting a Spanish wine tasting with recommended fun food pairings! The day starts at 11am, where you’ll receive an arrival drink followed by wine tasting, a two course lunch, a glass of house wine and coffee or tea.

    2.Hotel Du Vin

    Join Hotel du Vin's Head Sommelier for a wine tasting session in the Victoria Tunnel on two Fridays in every month. Begin the evening at 6pm at the Hotel bar and lounge with a glass of arrival bubbles, followed by a mini Tunnel tour, learning about its history and hearing some great stories, before starting the wine tasting within the Tunnel. The sommelier will introduce and talk about 3 lovely wines from around the world and there will also be a blind tasting - can you guess your wine?

    3.Cavavin

    New to NewcastleGateshead, Cavavin is neatly tucked away under the arches on Westgate Road and sells a range of wines, champagnes and spirits. As well as the extensive range available to buy, they offer a wine tasting experience focusing on five different wines. Taking place within the heart of Cavavin wine shop, the fairly informal evening allows attendees to enjoy wines from all over the world.

    4.Fenwick

    Whether you are an avid wine collector or simply enjoy discovering new tipples with friends, join Fenwick Newcastle on the 29th and 30th of July for their wine discovery event.

    Held in the vibrant Food Hall from 6pm until 9.30pm, it is the perfect opportunity to talk to the experts from their suppliers and producers while sampling a collection of over 50 wines, Champagnes, spirits and beers. Collect a glass and event guide on arrival then visit tasting stations around the Food Hall to try something new, learn about different grape varieties, countries and styles or find your next dinner party show-stopper. Handpicked by their expert team, you will also be able to try some of our signature spirits as well as perfectly brewed beers from the likes of Sapling Spirits and Play Brew.

    5.Blackfriars

    Blackfriars is an award-winning restaurant located in a 13th-century medieval friary in the heart of Newcastle offering a selection of wine tasting events throughout the year. Taking place in Blackfriars Tasting Room, the events offer the chance to sample wines from around the globe, alongside some snacks in case you get peckish!  The tasting consists of fizz on arrival and six samples of wine.
