Sketch Slap x Our Pride Big Gay Cabaret
Sketch Slap x Our Pride, Big Gay Cabaret is here for a big queer comedy EXTRAVAGANZA!
Wednesday 17th July, 7.30pm at The Cumberland Arms

Join us at the Big Gay Cabaret and expect the weird, the wonderful, wigs, bees, barbies, psychics and even taken aboard a pirate ship.
Each event is completely unique but always full of knee slappin' belly laughs. Hailed for being diverse, gay and as easy going as you like, it will continue to be the most entertaining platform for comedy sketches and theatre development. Championing artists and audience, Sketch Slap is proud to bring the craic to Our Pride, the most accessible and inclusive pride in our own Toon!

Sketch Slap is produced by SoreSlap Theatre’s Rhian Jade and Papi Jeovani. The team believe a platform for marginalised and allied artists to develop new work publicly and host a space for belly laughs and support is vital in today’s theatre scene. It is hailed for its diversity and inclusivity, much to SoreSlap’s delight!
The show has developed to become a safe LGBTQIA+ and Global Majority space to explore experience, culture and FUN together, with many featuring artists taking their work further professionally in the North East.

Our cabaret sketch night continues to celebrate comedy, queerness, neurodiversity, disability, ethnic and racial diversity and for Our Pride, we are all about providing space for queer expression and affirmation!  With an all queer cast and all queer writing, Sketch Slap x Our Pride, Big Gay Cabaret is NOT going to be one to miss.

Audience Feedback
"Exciting, fun, fresh" - January 24

"Felt genuinely diverse, sometimes call outs say they encourage diversity but in the end their product is not diverse so it feels empty. But SoreSlap feels like diversity is it's main purpose." - January 24

"Hilarious, very gay" - April 24

"Big queer and neurodiverse vibes!! It was so lovely to see some pieces explore queerness and neurodiversity which means a lot to me personally and reminds me that I am in a space where it is 100% a-okay to be whoever you are." - April 24
