Newcastle Piano Festival 2025 presents a diverse program of piano performances and musical experiences from 28th to 31st March 2025. The festival opens with an “8 Hands Extravaganza” on 28th March—a performance featuring four pianists on two pianos, showcasing works by Rachmaninov, Saint-Saëns, and innovative new compositions.
On 29th March, the day begins with “Rest & Resonance,” a unique concert designed for relaxation, where the audience can enjoy piano music in a laid-back setting. Later that day, families are invited to enjoy a performance of Saint-Saëns’ Carnival of the Animals, followed by a screening of classic silent films accompanied live by pianist Aura Mae.
The festival continues on 30th March with Stravinsky’s The Rite of Spring presented in its original two-piano version, promising an intense and engaging experience. The day concludes with a solo recital by Ukrainian piano prodigy Khrystyna Mykhailichenko, an emerging talent celebrated for her exceptional artistry.
