John Miller
Country anyone….

They don’t come much better than this guy…

Exciting times for DH9 to get an artist like John down to the North East as part of an autumn UK tour…

John Miller is from Scotland. John Miller sings Country Music. Not the kind that masquerades as Country in today’s market but real, authentic, original Country Music rooted in the Golden Days of the 50s and 60s when Country Music was at its finest. The influence of the Classic 4/4 shuffles and Honky Tonk Sounds of that bygone era, along with a love of rockabilly and western swing, are what makes Miller’s songs sound so much like the real deal. Don’t take our word for it, here’s what others have to say…

“Short of being American, they must be the closest thing to the real deal that we have on these isles.
Howard Raucous, Raucous Records

Miller’s a traditional country singer; there’s no gimmicks and no newfangled twists… Consequently he’s the purest country singer practising his art on these islands, and the finest!
Nick West, Bucketfull Of Brains

"Utterly convincing, sometimes joyous, sometimes heartbreaking, always credible”
Tom Morton, BBC Radio Scotland

“Scotland’s Best Kept Secret.”
Lindsay Hutton, Next Big Thing

Words on Losers Hall of Fame
This album is perhaps the best that Miller has yet released. His vocal delivery is top notch throughout. (Losers Hall Of Fame) could just as easily have come from Austin, Los Angeles or Nashville.
The album does not take the currently popular route of emulating 90s country but rather seems rooted in 60s and 70s era melodic country. He has stuck to his musical guns for a long time and never fails to show his faith in his love for his chosen musical path. This album will doubtless be in my hall of fame this year.
Stephen Rapid, Lonesome Highway, March 2024

This will delight lovers of hardcore honky tonk tunes like me and further reinforce how Miller is an unsung hero of UK country and one of the best these islands have ever produced.
Elements of rockabilly and vintage country combine on eight Miller originals that would be equally at home on the jukebox of a mid-60 Texas beer-joint as they would in a Dale Watson set. Yes,I'd really say it's that good.
“Town Crier” is another killer shuffle any self-respecting fan of The Country Side Of Harmonica Sam needs in their collection.
Losers Hall Of Fame is a filler-free zone. Losing never felt so good. (5 Stars)
Duncan Warwick, Country Music People, April 2024
